Britten has penned 6 full bars of music with lyrics from his, "Carmen Basiliense (Cantata Academica)," 1959, which he noted at the end of the bars of music. At the beginning, he writes, "Soprano solo," and on the line below, "Coro (Ten Bass)." He signs below the music, "Benjamin Britten." Britten composed the Cantata for the 500th anniversary of the University of Basel. This long musical quotation is superb and ideal for presentation.

Stokowski was the conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the NBC Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Symphony of the Air. He was the founder of the The York City Symphony and The American Symphony Orchestra. He conducted the music for and appeared in Walt Disney's "Fantasia".

ORMANDY, EUGENE. (1899-1985) American conductor of the Philadephia Orchestra, Ormandy was born in Budapest and emigrated to the United States in 1921. He conducted and co-conducted many orchestras in the United States with the great conductors of the twentieth century, such as Toscannini and Stokowski. He then began his 44-year career as sole conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, giving it it's reputation for the smooth "Philadelphia sound", and his being the longest conductorship in history.

This  musical notation on music paper consists of  seven bars of music from his composition, "There Is No Death" with the lyric written underneath, "I tell you they have not died. They live and breathe with you. There is no death."  A profound and comforting piece of music,  this fragment of it is signed in full aabove the notes, "Compliments of Geoffrey O'Hara, August 18, 1936."

This is a full color head shot of Morricone taken in 2006. His face is shown against a blue background and he is wearing a casual red shirt.  The photograph is interesting because of the beautiful eyes, though he is shown in his characteristic thick glasses, but his eyes are very intense and his hair is gray.  He looks every inch the artist he is.  This a beautiful photograph ready for framing and is signed in full in black pen across the bottom white margin "Ennio Morricone".

He is best known for the characteristic sparse and memorable soundtracks of Clint Eastwood and Sergio Leone's westerns, "A Fistful of Dollars" (1964) "For a Few Dollars More" (1965) and "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" (1966).

 Hawkins wirtes to a friend regarding musical matters.  It reads, "Dear John, I would love to have you hear Lucie's new piece. It is the difference between innovation and originality!  Did you ever see the announcement about her winning the Koussevetsky Award?  Do you remember saying hello at the Public Library when I was standing near a man I had just met? We have become friends and he is now on our board.  Here is a review of fall performances at Kennedy Center. May I phone you in a few days to see if you are free and if I can send you tickets?"  The letter is signed, "Best, Erick".  A fine example of music discussion between colleagues.
HAWKINS, ERICK. (1904-94) American dancer, choreographer, became soloist and first male dancer in the Martha Graham Dance Company and later married and divorced Graham; formed his own dance company in mid 1950's.
