WALTER F. WANGER

(1894-1968) Important American film producer. His many significant productions include "The Sheik"(1921), "Queen Christina" (1933) "Stagecoach" (1939), "Foreign Correspondent" (1940) "Joan of Arc" (1948) "I Want to Live" (1958), and "Cleopatra"(1963).

Typed Letter Signed, 4to, on business stationery of Universal Studios, Universal City, California, June 8, 1942.

This letter is from Wanger to Mr. Ernest Angell of the Council for Democracy in New York City. It reads, "Dear Mr. Angell, I am terribly sorry about not having a chance to see you in New York, but I was there only a little over a day and in convention. However, I did carry out your instructions and called Walter Houston, but the Pierre advised he was out of town for a few days. If there is anything else I can do please do not hesitate to call upon me. I am sorry to have been so remiss. Kind personal regards," and signed in full, "Walter Wanger"
