(1804–1872) Author, illustrator and artist, who was also known under the pseudonym of Alfred Croqwill.

A.L.S., Nov 25, 1859 and it reads, “ I have you the …that you may “see the man in the face” for of anything can add to the …. of doing good it is the knowledge of its having gratefully …. Let me hear from you thus I may know where you are and I may take a walk I have …” A.L.S., July 7, 1859 and it reads, “I will go down to … with you….evening next week when I have…. Why you … not have … to your last”. Each signed, “ Alfred Crowquill.”.

Alfred Forrester often wrote short tales, songs, children's stories, and occasional burlesques. He could also draw and worked on wood, etchings and caricatures using pen and ink, specializing in anthropomorphic animals.
