Our sepia toned photograph shows Robinson full length in dancing pose, one foot on bottom stair of short stair case, the other foot raised, in three-quarter profile. To the right of his outstretched hand he inscribes, "To-...with very best wishes always-Bill Robinson." He dates under his name, "1930." This photograph shows the well known image of Robinson captured by famed photographer George Hurrell and bears the blind embossed stamp of Hurrell.
In addition to his dancing, Robinson was a baseball fan, co-founder of the New York Black Yankees ball team in 1936 which belonged to the Negro National League.
