CHARLES ADDAMS

(1912-1988) American cartoonist known for his black humor and macabre characters. His is closely associated with "The New Yorker" magazine which published his cartoons regularly.

Addams has drawn "Uncle Fenster," of the Addams Family, wearing his robe, and under shorts. He bears his chest on which his creator writes, "All best Chas Addams." The stationery sheet measures 7.5 x 5 inches, Uncle Fenster measures approximately 4.3/4 x 3.5. Horizontal center fold lightly visible on verso otherwise fine condition.

Addams created the characters that became known as The Addams Family, the basis for two live-action television series, two cartoon series, and many motion pictures. He also created a syndicated comic strip, "Out of This World," which ran in 1956.
