Truffaut's "Le Dernier Metro" [The Last Metro]" is about to open when Truffaut expresses his trepidation to American editor and translator Stanley Hochman. Truffaut writes in his large hand, "My newest film, 'The dernier metro' will be at the movie houses Wednesday and I am very nervous...." Truffaut had missed Hochman because he had no news from him but offers to talk on the phone and gives his number. "The Last Metro" won 10 Cesar Awards including one for Truffaut as best director and was nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign film of 1980. With envelope addressed in Truffaut's hand and with no postal markings.
