Barbier, considered one of the great illustrators of the early 20th century, led a group of artists from the Beaux Arts School known for their flamboyance as much as their art. Barbier designed jewelry, glass and wallpapers in addition to his costume and set designed for theater, ballet and the Follies Bergére. His stylized design has become iconic.
