The document is a check from The Bank of Hawaii, Ld. of Honolulu, made out by Jack London for $100 cash. London signed in full in a large bold hand in dark black pen faded to charcoal gray. The bank's cancellation mark shows in pink likely faded red. London and his wife visited Hawaii for the first time in 1907. Condition: The left lower corner is torn likely having been pulled from a check book, not affecting printed or written text. The cancellation mark includes a break in the shape of an X visible on verso.
