WALT KUHN

"Sometimes I Get So Confused!" says the mermaid in Walt Kuhn's humorous sketch rendered in pen and ink on the back of an accounting pad sheet, 4 x 7 inches. Unsigned.

Recognized as a skilled painter of circus portraits and comic performers, Kuhn also sketched cartoons. His sense of humor shows in the drawing of a confused mermaid confronting an underwater "Shower Bath." The smiling big eyed fish might be a quickly sketched self portrait.

Provenance: part of a collection of Walt Kuhn drawings and letters purchased together.
