Bac was well known for his poster illustrations depicting late 19th century.Parisian. Translation: " Topic ( Of the time of Louis IV) 'What is the dictatorship of incompetence?' It's when you acknowledge that , while you were away, someone loyal to you took steps to avoid a major mistake, and all you have to say is: It was for me to decide. I am in command." Bac's cartoon is a likely critique of France's then president Vincent Auriol who presided over the Fourth Republic from 1947-54, a time of political and economic turmoil.
