Two Drawings to form a diptych of an imaginary reptile, various media, unsigned.

Kerouac may not have been as talented a painter as he was a writer, but from an early age he created vibrant artworks in mixed media. Reminiscent of psychedelic art, Kerouac's pair of drawings may have been rendered with house paint mixed with glue, and he may have used his fingers along with brushes. [see "Scrawl: An A - Z of Famous Doodles," New York: Rizzoli, p. 120] Each drawing measures 6.75 x 10.75 inches on a white artists board and floats on a dark gray mat overlaid with a white mat and framed in black satin finished wood, Frame measures 21.25 x 1825 inches. www.schulsonautographs.com.
