Hergé sketched his renown characters on the back of a Tintin comic album page. He inscribed his drawing and writes, "with friendly thoughts from Tintin, Milou and Hergé ...."

Hergé created the series for which he is best known in 1929. His characters and story telling style have been a significant influence in the comic book world, and his Tintin character enjoys international recognition.
