Paris 1860s PHOTOGRAPHY BROADSIDE

Photography Broadside advertising "Photographie Universelle Du XIX Siecle," Paris, ca 1860s.

Rare Photography Advertising Broadside for a Parisian photography studio operated by Alphonse Loisel who was active in the 1860s (according to Getty Images). Loisel advertises a guarantee that no photographer had offered: a proof - "epreuve" - of the image before the photograph is printed, and if the client does not like the image, the photographer will take a second photograph and offer a second proof for no additional charge. A caricature of the famed French photographer Nadar appears to be sit on a camera in the broadside's highly decorative design. The sheet measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and is normally aged with slight chip in upper left corner, else very good condition.
