(1899 -1994) American cartoonist, animator, film producer, and director, best known for founding Walter Lantz Productions and creating Woody Woodpecker.

Cartoonist best known for Woody Woodpecker also created Andy Panda featured in cartoon shorts or "cartunes" released between 1939-1949 by Universal Pictures then by United Artists. Lantz has drawing the face of the disarmingly cute panda on a 3 x 5 inch blue card and signed to the lower right of Andy Panda's face smiling at this creator's signature. Charming.
