(1857-1937). British artist best known for his illustrations of characters from the novels of Charles Dickens.

Joseph Clayton Clarke, professionally known as "Kyd," sketched "Joe, The Fat Boy," from Charles Dickens Pickwick Papers." The drawing is rendered in water color and black ink on drawing paper apparently cut from a larger sheet, and measures approximately 5 x 7, margins uneven. Signed, "Kyd." Shadows from prior frame show on verso.
