SALVADOR DALI
Don Quixote Drawing Signed in an Art Book
Covering two pages including the title page, Dali has sketched his Don Quixote character, loosely, in black ink and dated, 1979. His signature on the page opposite the drawing shows his swirling "D" around the publisher's name and logo extending upward using the whole page. The book Dali inscribed is, "Twentieth-Century Graphics," by Jean Adhemar, first US edition published by Praeger 1971, with dust jacket protected in a plastic cover. However, the dust jacket shows a diagonal tear from the upper right front corner of about 2 inches; also a smaller tear at the upper left front corner. The large signed image is in fine condition.
