This photograph by Christopher Cox shows Virgil Thomson was in a casual pose. It is a head-and-shoulders picture of Thomson sitting on a couch. Taken in black and white, it reveals Virgil Thomson at a ripe old age of 87 years and he looks much younger, except for his eyes which look just a bit tired! Fine for framing, he pens the inscription on the printed couch, "For... Cordially " and signed in full "Virgil Thomson"
